Cast lead alloy or lead, perforated circular probable weight or spindle whorl of medieval to post-medieval date 1400 - 1800AD. The weight has a circular perforation. Lead possible weight. Cast discoid flat-sided weight with a tiny [diameter c.1.3mm] pierced hole off-centre; patinated. One of two similar objects reported together from the same general location. The hole would admit a fine cord, perhaps of horsehair, and may suggest a use as a fishing line weight, though a flat discoid form is unusual, and perhaps indicates the personal preference of an individual. Suggested date: Medieval, 1200-1500. Diameter: 20.6mm, Thickness: 2.8mm, Weight: 7.71gms
