An incomplete, worn, double struck and possibly clipped post-Medieval silver penny of Charles I (1625-1649). Initial marks: illegible. Inner circle on both sides, possibly Group D, possibly North 2271 (North 1991: 163, ref: 2271).
Obverse: CAROLVS D G [ ]; Crowned bust left with I (mark of value) behind head.
Reverse: [ ]IA.THROAT ('Justice strengthens the throne'); Oval garnished shield.
Diameter: 13.4mm. Weight: 0.46g.
The reverse is double struck.
