An incomplete cast composite likely formerly gilt copper-alloy medieval horse-harness pendant of mid-later Medieval date (c. 1300 - 1400 AD). Description: The pendant is formed of two components, having an inner cross suspended in an outer quatrefoil frame that has a knop at each corner of the quatrefoil and an integral loop at the top. The incomplete central domed boss is circular in plan and decorated with 14 inward facing triangular cells in sunburst pattern in two concentric circles, one cell of which has been worn through. The cells would once have held enamel which no longer survives. In the centre is a recessed circular cell. There are the remains of a grooved channel around one section of the edge. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy Colchester derivative bow brooch of uncertain type (AD 50-150). The surviving part consists of part of the lower bow and part of the catch-plate only. The top of the bow measures 7.1mm in width and 2.6mm in thickness. It narrows in width from the top towards the bottom. Just above the catch-plate it is 5.0mm wide and 2.5mm thick.
