A rim sherd of a probably Roman ceramic vessel dating from AD 43 - 410. The fabric is hard, smooth and has an irregular to fine texture. It is poorly fired, light grey in the core with orange surfaces. It has sparse, well sorted quartz?, shell It has frequent angular white and light grey inclusions (quartz?)Inclusions. The sherd is from the vertical rim of an open vessel. The rim has a rounded top, and then a vertical collar before stepping inwards with traces of decoration.
