A cast copper alloy mount or strap fitting, possibly for a piece of furniture or alternatively for a horse harness, dating to the post-medieval period. The mount is in the form of a 'Tudor' rose, with small trefoil tabs projecting from the curve between each rose petal. A large centrral hole, drilled through the decoration, would have held a securing rivet and is the only form of attachement for the mount. Although so-called Tudor roses are often attributed to the 16th century, the form remained in use after this period and this object is likely to be of 17th or even 18th century date.

Copper alloy possible mount. A small cast bag-shaped or cooking-pot-shaped plate, thickened in a U-shaped patch at the top of the back, where the stub of an integrally cast fixing pin projects. The integral fixing suggests a post-medieval date. This may alternatively be a component from a more complex composite object. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1650. Height: 14.7mm, Width: 17.7mm, Thickness (clear of fixing): 2mm, Weight: 1.78gms
