Incomplete medieval crescentic strap-end, crescentic back-plate missing. It was held in position by four rivets, two of iron next to the attachment edge, and two of copper alloy. Large broken perforated foliate terminal. The engraved, cross-hatched and drilled decoration is very similar to that on an example from Abingdon (Fingerlin 1971 Abb. 314, Kat. Nr. 239), and to an incomplete piece from Quidenham (HER 37284). Extant length 47.5mm. Width 30.5mm. First half 15th century.

Medieval to post-medieval copper alloy thimble. A plain band around the base is topped by an engraved line. Above this the sides and and top are covered with a continuous spiral of very closely-spaced sub-rectangular/ovoid indentations. Before the start of the spiral there is a stamped counter-relief quatrefoil maker's mark. Diameter c.17.5mm. Height 20mm. Probably a Nuremburg product, c.1520 - c.1650.

It is recessed, with a wavy line reserve approximately 1mm from the edge of the recess creating two fields. The outer field retains traces of degraded enamel.
