A possible, cast lead palm guard, dating to AD c. 1500-1800. Roughly hexagonal in shape, with one edge damaged. One face is curved and the other flat. D-shaped in cross section. Both faces show pitting and have areas covered in a brown coating, prehaps from the burial environment. Diameter 54.8, Thickness 9.2, Weight 107.4g.

A copper alloy Roman coin; an As probably of Hadrian (AD 117 - 138) probably dating from AD 132 - 134 (Reece Period 6). The reverse probably depicts Clementia standing left holding a patera and sceptre, and is probably inscribed [CLEMENTIA AVG COS III P P] S C, or [CLEMENTIA AVG P P COS III] S C. Mint of Rome. RIC II, p. 432, cf. nos. 714-715. The coin is 24.7mm diameter, 3.8mm thick and 8.1g.

Copper alloy and other probably osseous material, knife handle fragment. A flat plate from the middle of a scale tanged implement, appearing like a miniature table knife handle, with four equidistantly spaced rivets of diameter 2.2mm and length 4.2mm attaching the other material - perhaps degraded bone or horn. The object has an expanded or pistol-grip terminal, and is bent, probably by plough-strike, at its midpoint. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1730. Length (as found): 46.6mm, Width: 14.2mm, Thickness: 3.5mm, Weight: 6.16gms

Copper alloy buckle. Cast oval buckle with markedly bevelled edges and opposed housings for a separate steel spindle [lost]. The frame bears a series of equidistantly spaced crescents stamped around its circumference, with lightly defined cabled borders along the inner and outer edges of the frame. A zone of dots in lines between a pair of crescents may be the relict of a more extensive scheme lost to heavy wear. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1660-1720.
