An incomplete copper-alloy umbonate disc brooch of Roman date, c.AD 100 - 250. The brooch is circular with a worn brake to one edge and two projections extending at opposite points. One projection houses a double lugged hinge for the pin to the reverse, the other, the catchplate. A short length of circular sectioned pin survives, the rest having been lost to a worn break. The main body of the brooch is distinctly domed and is decorated with two concentric rings of triangular cells pointing towards a central ring and dot motif.
