A complete copper alloy belt or strap mount of the Loyal Nottingham Volunteers, dating to the late 18th to early 19th centuries. The object is oval in shape with the upper decorated face showing a crown surmounted by a cross, above "LNV" in scrolled capital letters. The reverse is concave and has a curved hook at the top with two side-by-side studs below for attaching to a cross-belt or strap. The item is cast in copper-alloy, and shows evidence of a short remaining length of a sub-rectangular arm attached to the disc, measuring approx 3.7mm in length. The artefact has a single decorated face comprising a central raised pellet within a circle of smaller pellets. There is an outer ring of impressed slanted rectangular shapes. An incomplete Medieval or Post Medieval lead cloth seal, probably dating to c. AD 1400-1714. Disc 1 of a 2- or 4-part seal. The surviving fragment comprises of a flat disc of lead with an integral rivet projecting from the reverse.
