A copper alloy probable strap end of Early Medieval date, about AD 750 - 950. It is probably of Thomas Class A, uncertain subtype. It is incomplete, both ends having broken off, but the central part has convex sides which are scalloped. There is a central rectangular panel which appears to be decorated with an inscription or maybe just two letters: a Roman N [retrograde] and a curved letter which is incomplete.
