This solid button is discoidal in form, circular in plan and flat at the back. At the front there is a pimple at the apex. The back has two holes where the missing separate attachment wire shank was imbedded.
This button has a silver coloured surface with patches of copper-alloy corrosion.

A sherd form the rim of a ceramic Roman vessel. The fabric is New Forest Ware. On the exterior below the rim are a few flecks of black residue from the original colour coating. The rim folds back close to the vessel wall which has a shallow ridge below the rim. The sherd represents 7% of the rim which had an opening diameter of approximately 25cm.

An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle (c. 1500-c. 1650).
The pin is missing.
This buckle frame is convex at the front and each oval loop is bevelled internally at the rear.
Each loop is similar in size and shape. The front of both curving outside edges has a transverse groove serving as pin rests. The bar is triangular in cross-section and at each end of the bar there is a small knop.
The frame is drab green with patches of shiny and darker green patina.
Length: 24.0mm; width: 18.0mm; thickness: 2.6mm. Weight: 3.33g.

An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy shoe or clog clasp (1700-1900).
This object has been machine stamped and would have been used with a similar hasp to secure a wooden shoe to the foot.
The body of the object is rectangular in plan. The upper edge is flat and has an integral sub-rectangular lug at the centre which has been folded to the reverse. The missing lug at the opposite end would have also been folded to the reverse.

An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy mount (c. 1600-c. 1700).
The spikes are incomplete.
This mount is circular in plan, domed at the front and hollow at the rear.
The front has been decorated with a series of three concentric grooves and an irregular pellet at the centre. There are the remains of two integral spikes which are located opposite each other, at the edges of the object.
The object is largely reddish brown and corroded on the rear face. There are traces of a white metal coating at the front.

An early-medieval silver Carolingian denier of monogram type struck for either Charlemagne (768-814) dating to c.793-814 or Charles the Bald (840-77) dating 840-c.864. Minted at Melle, France. Ref: Coupland 2015.
The inscriptions are oriented in the standard manner for these coins, with the R, S and X on the obverse located at the ends of the horizintal and lower arms of the central cross, and the initial cross on the reverse at 1 o'clock (if the monogram is horizontal).
