An incomplete cast copper alloy 'stirrup' finger ring of probable Medieval date (AD 1200-1450). The hoop of the finger ring is distorted, and broken across the mid-point of the both broken edges are abraded and worn suggesting damage in antiquity. From the break the hoop flares (expands) at the shoulders of the ring to form a relatively plain decorated bezel. The bezel projects from the hoop and is rhomboid in section. The bezel is sub-rectangular in plan and sub-rectangular in cross section - an oval shaped depression filled with light green corrosion is presnet on the exterior face.…

Description: The mount is dome shaped in cross-section. The upper surface is undecorated but has a circular indented groove which runs on the inside of the circumference. A crack, and iron corrosion follows the groove all the way around The underside surface is flat and has the remains of an iron shank in the centre. Iron corrosion is also evident on the underside of the object. The mount has a grey patina with some green corrosion begining to effect it.

A possible copper alloy Roman brooch fragment dating to circa AD 43-200. The fragment consists of part of the bow and head. The wings, spring mechanism, pin, foot and catchplate are all missing. The object is broadly an inverted triangle in form. It is broad at the top and narrows to broken lower edge. There is iron staining on the head which could indicate the object once had an iron pin. The object has a mid-green coloured abraded patina.
The fragment measures 22.5 mm in length, 11.8 mm in width, 8.7 mm in thickness and it weighs 4 grams.

The bow is convex on the front and flat on the reverse. The object has some moulding detail at the upper edge.Just below are two horizontal ribs in light relief. These are visible at the front only and do not extend to the reverse. The object has a mid-green coloured abraded patina.
The fragment measures 20.4 mm in length, 9.1 mm in width, 3.7 mm in thickness and it weighs 2.8 grams.

The upper face is decorated with a complex mark - possibly a 17th century privy seal comprissing a vertically aligned letter T with two wedge shapes joining the vertical shaft - possibly forming the letter A - in the voids created by these limbs are round pellets. The reverse shows an Axe over a vetical cross. The token has a grey coloured surface patina.

A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy knife pommel or end-cap (c 1520-c. 1530).
The object is circular in plan and rectangular in cross-section. It tapers in thickness. At the top the thickness is 4.0mm and at the bottom it is 5.8mm thick.
At the bottom a slot accommodates a tang of the knife, the remains of which are still present as iron corrosion. Each broad face has three pseudo numerals (possibly representing a date) with a straight line above and below. The edges have four evenly spaced oblique grooves as decoration.

An incomplete late Iron Age to early Roman cast zoomorphic copper-alloy strap-fitting. A strap-distributor dating to the period 50 BC - AD 50. It is incomplete insofar as at least one of the two conjoined circular loops (D-shaped in cross-section) has broken off. There are worn projections which emerge beneath the horse's head, and it is from here that a possible third circular loop projected, now broken off. The remaining loop is circular, measuring 20.47mm in diameter, with the frame of the loop measuring 3.21mm in thickness.

A copper-alloy fragment of a Bronze Age spearhead, dating to c. 1500-800 BC. It is sub-rectangular in plan and slightly tapering towards one end. It consists of a portion of the blade wing and part of the midrib. The surviving blade has a longitudinal bevel on both faces and it breaks on its inner edge. Along the latter break there are two semi-circular dents, which suggest some sort of old percussion. Only one face of the fragmentary midrib survives showing the inside surface of the socket. An incomplete silver finger ring of Roman date (AD 200-410). The object is a keeled type and is missing part of one should and the majority of the band due to old and abraded breaks. The object has an oval hoop with a thick rectangular cross-section, on the bezel and shoulder, and a circular sectioned lower band. An incomplete copper alloy seal matrix dated to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1500- 1700). The seal has a square handle terminating in a round suspension loop, now broken. The matrix end is circular in plan and attached to the handle via a waisted join. The face of the seal carries a design of cross-hatching in the form of projecting lozenges. The object is well worn with a dark green patina.

A complete copper-alloy mount of medieval date, c.AD 1300 - 1500. The mount is sexfoil in plan comprising six convex roundels with a domed profile. A central perforation is present through which a rivet would have fitted to hold the mount onto a strap or similar. The rivet no longer survives. The surface of the mount is undecorated.
The metal has a dark green patina and is worn. The mount is 12.9mm in diameter, 0.6mm thick and weighs 0.6g.

An incomplete Roman copper alloy hinged developed T-shaped brooch dating to AD 75 to 150. The surviving portion comprises of part of the head with a tab and the upper part of the bow. The brooch appears to have a high tin or zinc conent or heavy white metal coating giving a silvery appearence.

This object has been made on an elongated flint nodule. It is sub-oval in cross-section except at the butt end where it is sub triangular in cross-section. The dorsal face has about 80% off-white cortex and the ventral face has been crudely flaked all over. A large indentation on the ventral face appears to have been made deliberately. A lead alloy probably Post Medieval button dating from about AD 1550 - 1700. The button is a circular object made from two pieces of lead. The upper piece is a perimeter rim with an openwork design of six curved radiating arms from a central dot. Each arm is decorated with many transverse grooves. A smaller circular back piece fits inside the rim. There is a faint casting seam across the reverse and there was probably once a loop projecting from this rib. The button has a dark grey patina. An incomplete copper-alloy barb spring padlock case of medieval date, c. AD 1100 - 1300. The lock comprises a hollow cylindrical case with a rectangular pierced arm projecting upward from one end. A rectangular key aperture is present to the end, below the arm. The opposite end is obscured by corrosion.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The lock is 28.3mm long, 8mm wide and 2.2mm thick at the arm, the case us 9.8mm in diameter. The object weighs 7.9g.
