The head of the brooch comprises rectangular wings the reverse of which act as a double lug hinge mechanism which retains a central axis bar and pin loop. An incomplete copper-alloy dolphin brooch of Roman date, c.AD 55 - 100. The head comprises tubular wings which act as a hinge mechanism for the pin. A copper-alloy fragment of a Bronze Age spearhead, dating to c. 1500-800 BC. It is sub-rectangular in plan and slightly tapering towards one end. It consists of a portion of the blade wing and part of the midrib. The surviving blade has a longitudinal bevel on both faces and it breaks on its inner edge. Along the latter break there are two semi-circular dents, which suggest some sort of old percussion. Only one face of the fragmentary midrib survives showing the inside surface of the socket. An incomplete Late Iron Age to Early Roman copper alloy Langton Down type brooch dating to the mid first century AD. The brooch is almost complete, only its pin is missing. The brooch is very worn, particularly around the head and the foot with the catchplate folded up on itself. The bow has bent over in the middle so the foot is now in front of the head of the brooch.
