An incomplete disc-shaped, convex copper alloy mount or stud, possibly dating to the Roman period. Description: The mount is dome shaped in cross-section. The upper surface is undecorated but has a circular indented groove which runs on the inside of the circumference. A crack, and iron corrosion follows the groove all the way around The underside surface is flat and has the remains of an iron shank in the centre. A complete copper-alloy mount of medieval date, c.AD 1300 - 1500. The mount is sexfoil in plan comprising six convex roundels with a domed profile. A central perforation is present through which a rivet would have fitted to hold the mount onto a strap or similar. The rivet no longer survives. The surface of the mount is undecorated. The metal has a dark green patina and is worn. The mount is 12.9mm in diameter, 0.6mm thick and weighs 0.6g. Similar mounts are illustrated in Egan and Pritchard, p.191, fig.120. An incomplete copper-alloy mount of probable Early-Medieval date, c.AD 800 - 900. The mount is rectangular with a worn break to one end and an integral circular sectioned shaft projecting to one end of the reverse. The upper surface is decorated with a worn Trewhiddle style beast set within a thick raised border. The body of the beast faces right and is formed of double raised ridges. A rather worn Roman copper-alloy rectangular mount, or perhaps knife handle, with red enamel decoration. The object takes the form of a rectangular bar, flat but with slightly thickened edges on both faces, giving an H-shaped cross-section. From one short edge a rectangular lip extends with a corner missing. The object measures 48.0mm in length, 12.2mm wide, 2.9mm thick and weighs 6.96g.
