An incomplete copper-alloy mount of probable Early-Medieval date, c.AD 800 - 900. The mount is rectangular with a worn break to one end and an integral circular sectioned shaft projecting to one end of the reverse. The upper surface is decorated with a worn Trewhiddle style beast set within a thick raised border. The body of the beast faces right and is formed of double raised ridges.
