Medieval lead 7oz weight dating to the period c. AD 1300 - 1500. Shield-shaped with a bordering flange with a moulded desing in the centre, now indiscernible. It exhibits numerous nicks and scratches on all faces. Length 57.6mm. Width: 42.7mm. Thickness: 16.5mm. Weighs 3317.96 grains, 6.9oz, 215g. Cf. Biggs (1992), 42-3. A mercantile pound of 16oz Troy was in use during the 14th and 15th centuries (Biddle 1990, 911 Table 91 f.n.2).

The sherd represents about 6% of the diameter, and the opening would of probably been at least 40cm Vessel Wall thickness 13mm. Thickness of rim 20mm. Width of sherd 88mm. Weight 149g.

One end terminates in a broad crescent with inscribed saltire cross on either side, the other end terminates in three prongs. the object is bent and covered in tooling marks suggesting hand made manufacture. Potentially part of a post medieval fitting of some sort, although could be earlier.

A complete lead alloy post-medieval decorative knop from a tobacco box lid dating c. 1600-1850AD. The upper face of the mount is a moulded octofoil with a raised central boss surrounded by a concentric groove. On the reverse of the mount is an integral shank with a hemispherical lug around the base, for securing the mount to the underside of the box lid. There are some traces of the original black coating visible on the underside. Diameter: 22mm; height: 20mm; weight: 17.4g

Copper alloy thimble. Cast beehive-shaped thimble constructed of two layers, each of thickness 0.7mm, one slipped tightly within the other. The external, and hence visible, surface has ten horizontal rows of hand-stamped circular pits [of diameter 0.8mm] around its wall, and with a scatter of more worn pits on its domed top, which is partly worn away to reveal the inner sleeve. An incomplete cast copper-alloy strap fitting dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period, c. 100 BC-100 AD. It consists a plano-convex sectioned circular hoop that thickens at its base-where there is a vertical sub-rectangular slot. Projecting above this slot is a circular 'button' like projection, its sides decorated with moulded transverse collars and its upper surface demonstrating a small circular aperture at its midpoint that originally would have served to attach an enamel cell via means of a circular-sectioned rivet. A copper alloy strap slide dating to the early-medieval period (9th century). The strap slide is pointed-oval in shape with a raised central rib running horizontally along its length. A rectangular attachment loop projects from the reverse of the pointed ends. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The metal is worn and light green in colour. The strap slide is 18.1 mm long, 9.2 mm wide, and 11.1 mm thick. It weighs 1.9 g. A similar example has been recorded on the PAS database: YORYM-6A5851. Also compare LON-B3D8C7.
