Fragment of elaborate copper alloy key, stumps of internally scrolling bow, broken and distorted hollow, sub rectangular-sectioned shank with collar. Extant length 43mm. Late 13th - 15th century.

Small medieval copper alloy key with a date range from the late 12th to late 14th centuries, 25.8mm in length. The bow is 13.6mm wide and shaped in the fashion of a fish tail; the shaft tapers towards the bit, which is simple and without wards, channels or clefts.
