An incomplete cast copper-alloy brooch of Mackreth's Hod Hill 2b type, dating c. 43-75 AD. The foot and pin are missing in old damage, though otherwise the brooch is preserved intact. It demonstrates a rolled, tubular head with a rectangular slot at its midpoint- which still contains the remnants of the pin. The bow is sub-rectangular in section and broadly rectangular in plan, demonstrating a central recessed cell flanked by two prominent ridges. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy hinged developed T-shaped brooch dating to c. AD 75 to 150. The brooch is almost complete and only one of the wings and the lower part of the pin are missing. An integral headloop survives above the head of the brooch and measures 6.6 mm in diameter. The wings are cylindrical, measure 4.1 mm in diameter and survive to a width of 20.6 mm overall. The left wing, when viewing the brooch head uppermost, is complete and decorated at its end with two incised lines across the front only; the right wing is broken near the central pin slot.
