An enamelled copper alloy skeuomorphic plate brooch in the form of an axe. The brooch consists of a rectangular haft and an axehead with a small, squared loop with a circular aperture at the top. The axehead is trapezoidal in shape with an in-curved lower edge and an out-curved upper edge. The haft has a reserve of metal around the outer edges and is recessed, containing traces of red enamel. A copper alloy book clasp, dating from the Post-Medieval period, about AD 1500 - 1700. It is rectangular in plan, flaring outwards at one end and with squared shoulders at the other. Between the shoulders is a curved, blunt fastening hook. There is the remains of an iron rivet in the centre of the flared terminal. A copper alloy book clasp, dating from the Post-Medieval period, about AD 1500 - 1700. It is rectangular in plan, flaring outwards at one end and with squared shoulders at the other. Between the shoulders is a curved, blunt fastening hook. The flared end divides into a bifurcated terminal with a copper alloy rivet in each part. There is also a stamped double incuse ring round a small hole in the main plate. The clasp has a light brown patina.
