An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy mount (c. 1600-c. 1700). This mount is slightly convex at the front and flat at the rear. One end has a trefoil or fleur-de-lis knop terminal and the opposite end is in the form of an old transverse break. In plan, the sides flare from the knop towards the break. At the rear of the knop an integral, bent and tapering spike is circular in cross-section. The spike has been bent in order for it to be secured to leather.
