A complete square post-Medieval double-sided cast copper-alloy coin (1580-1600).
Obverse: crowned rose in between the letters A and I all within a circular border
Reverse: Upright hand in between A I all within a circular border
The coin weight was made in Antwerp by a maker ( A I ) whose work is recorded but whose name is not known (Withers and Withers 1995: 32 & 60).
Similar coins weights with the double rose and hand can be seen at SF-F336E5, SOM-27A166 and IOW-C7E866 whil examples displaying the maker AI are found at LON-D53B94 and HESH-8A91F4
