A cast lead spindle whorl of uncertain date, probably from the medieval period. The whorl is circular in plan with a plano-convex profile, and is white in colour. It is 27.3mm in diameter with a maximum thickness of 5.0mm, and a conical central aperture of 6.5mm diameter (convex face) to 9.5mm (flat face), and it weighs 17.9g. There is recent damage to the flat face, where it was hit by a spade during extraction......

A post-medieval (1650-1700) copper alloy dress hook, eye-section, of Read's Class A Type 12 (sub-pentagonal with one attachment knop and two attachment holes in the plate). The sub-pentagonal plate has a raised rim flanking the edge and moulded decroation in the form of a four-petalled flower with sepals and fronds. At one end is a rounded attachment knop with a projecting spiral collar (the piercing 1.6mm diameter) while at the opposite end is the rectangular eye-section (loop, 12.9mm wide, internal 8.8mm). Two fragments of separate ceramic vessels of Roman date, c.AD 43 - 410. Both vessels are from local (unsourced) miscellaneous greyware vessels with mid-grey fabric throughout. The fabric is fine and sandy with a smooth feel. Dimensions Sherd 1: 52.2mm x 47.3mm x 6.9mm. Weight: 23.6g. Sherd 2: 53mm x 28.2mm x 9mm. Weight: 17.9g. 'Greyware' describes various types of locally produced pottery that were made in many different areas of Britain. They are one of the most common type of pottery found on Roman sites in Britain.

Copper alloy whistle. Cast whistle, with a short cylindrical middle part with a semi-circular cut-out as a sounding hole, and with a collared hemispherical end with an elongated knop with a hole drilled from both sides for suspension.
