A cast, copper-alloy rotary key of Roman date, AD 200-410. The key has a short solid rectangular stem (16mm) attached to a bow of octagon shape that has a loop width of 15mm. It is set at an angle of 90 degrees to that of the stem. The cross-section of the bow is 1mm thick by 6mm wide. The bow has an old break that has twisted one side out of shape. At one end of the stem, where it joins the bow, there is decoration in the form of two grooves and two raised ridges. An incomplete and slightly misshapen Medieval silver-gilt finger-ring (1200-1400). Treasure case no. 2018 T466. Prior to being broken the bezel had four evenly spaced stylised petals. The two surviving petals are grooved to represent veins. The hoop is moulded on the outside and flat on the inside. Each shoulder has an inscribed cross saltire and there is a similar cross saltire at the base of the hoop. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy Hod Hill brooch (AD 43-75). The head, pin and most of the catch-plate are missing. The edges are also abraded. The brooch is now cruciform-shaped. The upper part of the bow is convex at the front and has horizontal parallel ridges and grooves. The side lugs are flat at the front. The lower part of the bow projects forwards. An incomplete unidentified copper-alloy object (c. 1650-c. 1800). This object is a hooked plate with a separate hollow boss which is soldered to the front. The plate is flat and roughly triangular in plan. The broader end is straight and the sides taper evenly to a small hook at the rounded base. The front has an umbonate or hollow boss with an iron knop at its apex. The boss has evenly spaced holes as decoration. Most of the holes are filled with corrosion. A complete silver penny of Edward I 1272 - 1307 AD. Class 3g, which dates this coin to 1280 - 1281 AD. Obverse: A trifoliate crown with outwardly curved side fleurs. Bust facing forward. The drapery consists of two wedges. There are contractive marks of crescents after the R and L. The S is non-composite (thick-waisted). The A's are most likely barred, but due to the wear it is hard to verify. Reverse: A long cross with three pellets in each quarter. London mint. Spink 1393, North 1022.
