Two conjoining fragments of a cast copper alloy turned vessel of probable late medieval to post medieval date (1400 - 1650). The fragment consists of part of the rim and small section of the sidewall. The internal and external surfaces have a brushed / turned surface. The vessel fragments are a mid green grey colour with a coroded surface patina. A small Neolithic polished axehead, possibly reworked from a larger original one. The axehead is slender and is pointed oval in section across the middile. The cutting edge is crescentric and displays polish on both faces. The main body of the axe is unpolished. The butt end is unusual, being set a 90 degrees to the cutting edge and forming a second blade. Both faces of the blade are polished, and extending a short way along the edge of the axe. It seems possible that the area that is now the butt was originally the cutting edge of an entirely polished axe that has been later reworked…
