A cast copper-alloy 'Winchester style' strap end of later Early Medieval (10th - 11th century) date. The strap end is incomplete and the upper and lower faces are lost. The damage appears to be old as the breaks are either corroded or patinated. Originally the strap end would have been rectangular (tongue shaped) with a rounded base and riveted attachment plate. The stepped attachment plate is lost and broken across the rivet holes whilst the rounded terminal has lost its projecting point. A pair of copper-alloy tweezers of probable early medieval or medieval date, and which were probably used to hold pages of a book. The tweezers comprise two slender arms, arced at the top, and with slightly flared and inturned nibs at the terminals. The loop end has a very slight shoulder making it 1mm wider than the arms at that end. Approximately one third from the end is a metal bar which is bent around the arms which would have been used to secure them when not in use. The arms are not decorated. An incomplete Early Medieval Anglo Saxon copper alloy cruciform brooch dating from the 6th century. This is a 'florid style' brooch Martin type 4. The brooch has an integral cast top-knob in the form of an inverted human-like face mask; with with staring eyes. The mask is flanked on either side by a pair of birds facing down and inwards.
