Silver post-medieval penny of Henry VIII, dating to 1514 - 1526 AD. First coinage. Star initial mark, mint of Durham. Soverign type obverse of king seated on throne, [H] D G ROSA SINE SPINA. Reverse of square shield on long cross fourchee with TD beside shield, CIVI / TAS / [DU]R / HAM. The coin is 14.26mm in diameter, 0.70mm in thickness and weighs 0.7g. Spink (2005) no. 2332.
