A lead alloy lead weight of probable later medieval or post medieval date (1400-1800). The weight is circular in plan and rectangular in profile.The upper face is stamped with a C with distinct serrifs; it is positioned below the mid-point. Apart from this mark - it is undecorated. The weight has a mid-grey -cream coloured surface patina. The mass of teh weight is very close to the 2 oz - therefore it is likely to represent a 1/8th of a lb Diameter: 33.9mm, thickness: 7.1mm, weight: 58.6 grams (2 ozs)
