Medieval or Post Medieval copper alloy foot from a cooking vessel probably dating to AD 1200 to 1650. The foot is trapezoidal in section and with three narrow ribs on the outer surface. The piece measures 60.7 mm in length, 35.2 mmin width, 26.7 mm in thickness and weighs 147.03 g.
Cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from AD 1200 to 1700. Legs and feet are the most commonly recorded find and Butler et alii (2009, 4) suggest there were four main types of leg used. This is an example of Type A which seems to have been in widespread use in te medieval period with some examples …
