A cast copper-alloy 'Winchester style' strap end of later Early Medieval (10th - 11th century) date. The strap end is incomplete and the upper and lower faces are lost. The damage appears to be old as the breaks are either corroded or patinated. Originally the strap end would have been rectangular (tongue shaped) with a rounded base and riveted attachment plate. The stepped attachment plate is lost and broken across the rivet holes whilst the rounded terminal has lost its projecting point. An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill type brooch of Roman date (80-120 AD). The wings are near complete with flat and pierced end cap. The axis bar, spring and pin are lost. The spring was probably formed of copper alloy wire which was held in place by an external cord which is fixed to a rearward facing hook positioned at the midpoint on the upper edge of the reverse. Two conjoining fragments of a cast copper alloy turned vessel of probable late medieval to post medieval date (1400 - 1650). The fragment consists of part of the rim and small section of the sidewall. The internal and external surfaces have a brushed / turned surface. The vessel fragments are a mid green grey colour with a coroded surface patina. The fragments when joined measures 55.8mm length, 41.2mm width, is 4.1mm thick at rim and 2.2mm thick body; it weighs 21.25 grams. A near complete cast copper alloy Roman Trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. The bow of the brooch has an angular profile and an angular D shaped cross section. The bow tapers from a flared head to a tapered foot knop. The head of the brooch is complete, it is very robust being oval in plan, and tapers into the bow. The reverse of the head is concave and has a cast D shaped projecting bar which extends from the upper to lower edges of the reverse. A late post-medieval copper-alloy hinged book clasp. One part of the hinge is flat, measuring 30mm long, 17mm wide and 1mm thick. At the non-hinged end there is a central hole 3mm in diameter. The long sides have an undulating curved pattern. The reverse has no decoration, whereas the front has some lettering scratched in it, probably a monogram consisting of the letters WN in an 18th- or 19th-century curving script. An incomplete copper-alloy medieval buckle that conforms well to a Meols type 10 c.AD 1350 - 1400. The pin is missing, leaving just the frame. The buckle is a single looped, oval with a narrowed and offset bar and ornate outer edges. Two prominent knops flank two grooves on the outer edge of the loop which act as rests for the pin. The buckle weighs 4.15g; is 20.27mm deep and 26.09mm wide.

A small Neolithic polished axehead, possibly reworked from a larger original one. The axehead is slender and is pointed oval in section across the middile. The cutting edge is crescentric and displays polish on both faces. The main body of the axe is unpolished. The butt end is unusual, being set a 90 degrees to the cutting edge and forming a second blade. Both faces of the blade are polished, and extending a short way along the edge of the axe. It seems possible that the area that is now the butt was originally the cutting edge of an entirely polished axe that has been later reworked…
