A lead alloy lead weight of probable later medieval or post medieval date (1400-1800). The weight is circular in plan and rectangular in profile.The upper face is stamped with a C with distinct serrifs; it is positioned below the mid-point. Apart from this mark - it is undecorated. The weight has a mid-grey -cream coloured surface patina. The mass of teh weight is very close to the 2 oz - therefore it is likely to represent a 1/8th of a lb Diameter: 33.9mm, thickness: 7.1mm, weight: 58.6 grams (2 ozs)

Medieval or Post Medieval copper alloy foot from a cooking vessel probably dating to AD 1200 to 1650. The foot is trapezoidal in section and with three narrow ribs on the outer surface. The piece measures 60.7 mm in length, 35.2 mmin width, 26.7 mm in thickness and weighs 147.03 g. Cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from AD 1200 to 1700. Legs and feet are the most commonly recorded find and Butler et alii (2009, 4) suggest there were four main types of leg used. Two conjoining fragments of a cast copper alloy turned vessel of probable late medieval to post medieval date (1400 - 1650). The fragment consists of part of the rim and small section of the sidewall. The internal and external surfaces have a brushed / turned surface. The vessel fragments are a mid green grey colour with a coroded surface patina. The fragments when joined measures 55.8mm length, 41.2mm width, is 4.1mm thick at rim and 2.2mm thick body; it weighs 21.25 grams. A pair of copper-alloy tweezers of probable early medieval or medieval date, and which were probably used to hold pages of a book. The tweezers comprise two slender arms, arced at the top, and with slightly flared and inturned nibs at the terminals. The loop end has a very slight shoulder making it 1mm wider than the arms at that end. Approximately one third from the end is a metal bar which is bent around the arms which would have been used to secure them when not in use. The arms are not decorated. The obvers depicts a bust left, with pellets around the top of the head, maybe depicting a stylised crown or headdress. Small uniface lead token of post-medieval date (c. 1500 - 1700 AD). The object is a round disc with a design on one side. Unfortunately, the surface is very worn and much of the design is now obscured. What can be seen looks to be a Tudor shield in the bottom right corner of a larger design, perhaps a coat of arms. The object is light brown in colour. It is 11.62mm in diameter, 1.34mm in thickness and weighs 0.8g. A parallel example on the database may be KENT-2A8BBD.

A cast copper-alloy 'Winchester style' strap end of later Early Medieval (10th - 11th century) date. The strap end is incomplete and the upper and lower faces are lost. The damage appears to be old as the breaks are either corroded or patinated. Originally the strap end would have been rectangular (tongue shaped) with a rounded base and riveted attachment plate. A copper-alloy post-medieval seal matrix. The seal is oval12.9mm by 13.5mm, with a carved circle near the circumference. Inside this are the letters EB or JB (with the J carved as an I with three horizontal bars), also with two 6-armed stars one each above and below the intials. A small Neolithic polished axehead, possibly reworked from a larger original one. The axehead is slender and is pointed oval in section across the middile. The cutting edge is crescentric and displays polish on both faces. The main body of the axe is unpolished. The butt end is unusual, being set a 90 degrees to the cutting edge and forming a second blade. Both faces of the blade are polished, and extending a short way along the edge of the axe. It seems possible that the area that is now the butt was originally the cutting edge of an entirely polished axe that has been later reworked…
