Post Medieval copper alloy double looped buckle frame dating to AC 1550 to 1650. The buckle has two oval loops with moulded rosette decoration on the outer edge of each loop and lobed knops at either end of the central strap bar. The pin is missing. The front is convex and the back is flat and undecorated. The buckle is deformed in such a way that one loop curves in a convex profile. It surface has a green patina with traces of iron corrosion on the upper surface of the right rosette. The frame measures 42.3 mm in length, 30.8 mm in width, 2.6 mm in thickness and weighs 6.41 g. …

Post Medieval copper alloy double looped buckle frame dating to AD 1350 to 1650. The buckle has two oval loops divided by a narrowed and recessed axis bar. The bar has slight knops at each end. The front is convex and the back is flat. The buckle is deformed in such a way that each loop curves giving a concave profile. The surface is covered by a brown-green patina. No decoration. An incomplete copper-alloy medieval buckle that conforms well to a Meols type 10 c.AD 1350 - 1400. The pin is missing, leaving just the frame. The buckle is a single looped, oval with a narrowed and offset bar and ornate outer edges. Two prominent knops flank two grooves on the outer edge of the loop which act as rests for the pin. The buckle weighs 4.15g; is 20.27mm deep and 26.09mm wide.
