A Roman Republican denarius of Mark Antony dating to 32-31 BC, struck by a travelling mint. The reverse depicts a legionary eagle between two standards and the legend LEG III, for Legio 3. To the obverse is a galley, right (oars and standard placed at the prow visible) with the legend [ANT AVG] above and [III]VIR.R.P.C below. A heavily clipped medieval penny of Edward IV (1461-70 and 1471-83), mint of York (or possibly an Irish mint), dating between 1461 and 1483. Carl Savage comments, 'I cannot see any marks by the bust or crown and so may be a second reign sede vacant issue of York' (1472-5, 1476, 1480).

A post-medieval (c. 1575-1700) asymmetrical double-looped buckle, complete in terms of its frame but missing its pin. One loop is trapezoidal and measures 20.3 by 11.7mm, the other is D-shaped and measures 20.1 by 14.7mm. The latter has a small rounded projection into the loop at its centre. The bar separating the two loops is bent slightly to one side. The buckle is D-shaped in cross-section, with a flat reverse. There are grooved rebates on the outer edge of each loop. The object is missing its original patina and displays areas of copper-alloy corrosion product particularly on the …

A post-medieval (c. 1620-1680) copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame, complete in and of itself, but missing its pin. The frame is flat on both sides and is symmetrical with both loops trapezoidal in form, measuring 13.6 by 9.5mm. The outer edges of the buckle are trefoil in shape, composing of lobed ends and with a central triangular projection. On the front, both triangular projections have a narrow grove running horizontally down the centre measuring 5.1 mm in length. There are lobed protrusions also at either end of the axis bar. An almost complete cast copper-alloy lid from a Roman seal box of Andrews Type L2D1 dating to the 2nd or 3rd century AD. The lid is lozengiform, with slightly concave sides, is hollow, and rectangular in cross-section. At of the narrower apices of the lid is a small, oval pierced lug, off centre, following one of the sides; its counterpart would have been set to the other side giving a double lug.
