Less than half of an Early Saxon lead wrist clasp or model for the manufacture of a wrist clasp, with zoomorphic ornament. One attachment hole, one side, part of the slightly damaged rear edge, part of the front edge and, next to the break, part of a straight-edged recess. The latter suggests this is an eye-plate. Hines 1993, Form C3. Cf. SF5355, a possible lead wrist clasp or model. Length 24mm. Extant width 23mm. Thickness 3.3mm. Weight 4.93g. c.500 - c.550.

A complete lead weight or spindle whorl of uncertain date. The object is conical shaped with a flat base and sub-circular perforation in the centre. All the surfaces are very worn and appear to be undecorated. The metal is very worn and creamish grey in colour. The object is 31.0 mm in diameter, 14.6 mm thick and weighs 70.0 g. Lead spindle whorls and weights were commonly used from the Iron Age through to the post-medieval period and are difficult to date with any certainty without supporting archaeological context.
