An incomplete, two part, copper-alloy strap end of Medieval date, about AD 1200 - 1400. The remaining portion consists of part of the cast front plate. The plate is rectangular and flat, terminating in a narrow neck and an openwork terminal. Just before the terminal on the main plate is a pair of opposing U-shaped notches, one of which is slightly damaged. The openwork terminal, which also has damaged edges, has four circular perforations, forming a cross like design with the remaining metal. One of the perforations has been damaged and is incomplete.
