Description: A complete Posie or Posy finger ring, with plain band and interior Roman script ' inscription, dating to the mid post-medieval period (c. AD1600-1700). The ring is 'D' shaped in section with a plain convex outer band. The ring is slightly misshapen, and is thus sub-oval in plan. Around the inner band is inscribed the legend: 'love as I or else die' in crude italic lettering. A late iron age gold uniface quarter stater coin of a Gallo-Belgic type attributed to the Morini of the modern day Pas-de-Calais, minted between c.80-60BC. Gallo-Belgic D (Scheers class IV), ABC 43, VA 69-3.Obverse: plain, possible mould related marks upon it. Reverse: Tree-like object. Measurements: 12.92mm in diameter, 2.21mm thick and 1.44g in weight.

A gold finger-ring, made from a strip of gold, now distorted into an oval shape, and partially split at the join. The band is engraved around the outer surface with an inscription which appears to be pseudo-Hebrew: giving the impression of Hebrew, but which is illegible. Some of the characters are, or are similar to, genuine Hebrew letters, but some are illegible, and the meaning, if any, is not possible to interpret.
