A fragment from a hone or whetstone of undetermined date, probably Medieval or later but an earlier date should not be ruled out. The stone is rectangular in plan, profile and has a D shaped cross section. The whetstone is formed from a mid grey, coarse grained grit/sandstone - an area of distinct reddening is present in one place - this is likely to be due to burning or heatening in a fire. A circular lead pan weight of late Medieval to Post-Medieval date. Description: The pan weight is circular in plan with a raised in relief cross on its upper face formed from four uneven triangles, cast in relief arranged around a central raised pellet. Each triangle has a pellet within. It has slightly tapering sides which leaves the base slightly wider than the top. The leg is roughly rectangular in plan and section expanding towards the top where it would have joined with the vessel proper. The fragment is an irregular triangular shape in plan and slightly curved in profile - originally it would have been rectangular and the extant fragment represents a single corner. Incomplete Roman copper alloy stud dating to the period c. AD 100 - 350. Flat, discoidal head with a deep central recess containing traces of degraded enamel, now an off-white. This is surrounded by a shallower recess which is in turn surrounded by a concentric metal reserve and a second, wider concentric recess. Both recess contain traces of heavily degraded enamel of uncertain original colour. The edge of the plate is bordered by a reserve. An integrally cast cylindrical shank projects from the back of the stud and terminates in a worn break. See: Crummy 1995, p. 118, no, 3218.

A complete copper-alloy strap-slide of medieval date, c. AD 1150 - 1450. It is trapezoidal with an integral attachment rivet projecting centrally from the shorter edge. The frame has a rectangular section. The outer edge, opposite the rivet, is decorated with a series of parallel transverse grooves. The metal has a dark green patina and is worn. It is 17.4mm long, 12.9mm wide, 4.2mm thick and weighs 1.6g. Similar mounts are illustrated in Egan and Pritchard 1991, p.232, fig.147.
