A fragment from a hone or whetstone of undetermined date, probably Medieval or later but an earlier date should not be ruled out. The stone is rectangular in plan, profile and has a D shaped cross section. The whetstone is formed from a mid grey, coarse grained grit/sandstone - an area of distinct reddening is present in one place - this is likely to be due to burning or heatening in a fire. A circular lead pan weight of late Medieval to Post-Medieval date.
Description: The pan weight is circular in plan with a raised in relief cross on its upper face formed from four uneven triangles, cast in relief arranged around a central raised pellet. Each triangle has a pellet within. It has slightly tapering sides which leaves the base slightly wider than the top. The base is undecorated although it does have an iron shank pushed through to the front to help form the raised central pellet. The weight has been crudely cast leaving it quite uneven. A complete lead-alloy papal bulla of Pope Alexander IV dating to the medieval period. Pope Alexander IV reigned from 12 December 1254 to his death in 1261.
The obverse of the bulla is stamped with the faces of saints Peter and Paul within a border of raised pellets. Above the heads within the border, the saints' abbreviations are visible with 'SPA' for St. Paul to the left and 'SPE' for St. Peter to the right. Face decorated with rocker-arm lines forming a transverse line and wavy line above an I-shape with serifs reserved on a field of engraved rocker-arm. A complete copper-alloy button of medieval to Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1400 - 1700. The object is heart-shaped with a thick rectangular profile. The sides of the heart bend forward from a central groove and a narrow striated border decorates the edge of the upper surface.
An integral semi-circular loop projects from the reverse which displays file marks in multiple directions.
The metal has a dark brown patina and is worn. The object is 19.3mm long, 16.5mm wide, 3.8mm thick (12.3mm with loop) and weighs 7.7g.

A late medieval annular (probably disc-on-pin type) buckle with central bar and constriction in the frame (at 90 degrees to the bar) for the sheet pin, the tip of which is missing. A sheet metal plate curves around the central bar, a central rivet piercing both sides. It measures 22.6x22.0mm and weighs 3.81g.
Tom Redmayne comments, 'With the crossbar and the frame constriction, this may well be a disc-on-pin buckle that has lost the original pin and had it replaced with a "standard" pin' (pers. comm. June 2018).
Disc-on-pin buckles date to the 14th-15th century.
