Hoard of two incomplete cast copper alloy unlooped palstaves, or axeheads, dating from the Middle Bronze Age. One palstave has been broken cleanly into two pieces, probably by farming machinery since deposition, and the other palstave has just the butt end remaining, missing part of its flanged sides and its stop ridge to hold the haft or handle, and all of its blade. The more complete palstave is decorated below the stop-ridge with a raised shield shape with curved sides that tapers to a point as it extends on to the blade section. The face of the stud is divided into three cells by a raised copper alloy bar. There is a raised border running around the outer edge of the stud. Copper-alloy medieval single-loop oval buckle frame from a composite buckle dating to the period c. 1350 - 1450 AD. The buckle consists of an oval loop with a pointed lip and forked spacer, upon which would have been attached sheet buckle plates, now missing. The bottom face of the buckle loop is flat while the top face is bevelled. There is a step on either side of the buckle at the juncture between loop and forked spacer. A V-shaped notch between the two prongs of the forked spacer would have originally contained a pin, now only evidenced by a patch of red-brown iron corrosion. The …

Two rim sherds of probably Saxo-Norman vessels dating to c. AD 1000-1250. One shrd is more abraded with none of the original surface remaning on the outside and little on the inside; the breaks are all abraded. The vessels are both hard fired with a dark buff fabric, shading to pale orange in places and with sooting on the outer surface which remains on one sherd.
