A complete copper-alloy button of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1600 - 1800.
Description: The button is discoidal with a flat section. The front surface is decorated with an incised cross decorating the upper surface in each quadrant has a hatched triangle in it. The edge is formed from cut frilled decoration. A circular shank projects centrally from the reverse which is folded over to form a suspension loop. The button is patinated varied shades of green.
Measurements: 31.25mm in diameter, 9.79mm thick including the shank (1.9mm thick) and 7.84g in weight.

An incomplete and squashed silver filigree button. The separately applied wire attachment loop missing, but was originally soldered onto the octagonal silver backplate. The squashed domed front is formed from applied silver twisted wire and strip metal. There are eight curled strands of twisted wire, emanating from a central pin with a wire band around it. Each of the curls is framed by a drop-shaped strip of silver sheet.

Post-medieval copper alloy button with an integral drilled loop: a biconical, hollow openwork head with a small central nipple, six sub-triangular perforations on the front face, and six perforations on the rear face. Comparable with Baart et al. 1977, 185, no. 235, Margeson 1993, 20-2, fig. 11 no. 102 and Read 2005, 30, no. 93. Diameter 11mm. Length 18.5mm. 16th century.

A lead-alloy button dating to the early post medieval period. The button comprises a flat, circular plate. The upper surface of the plate is decorated with a circumferential groove and a central circular depression. From the underside there extends a small circular-section knop which is flanked by a casting seam. It measures 16mm in diameter and has a length of 2mm.

A copper-alloy button dating to the early post medieval period. The button possesses a head which is circular in plan and hemispherical in section. From the underside of the button, there extends a worn oval attachment loop. The button measures 10mm in diameter and 10mm in length.

A lead-alloy button dating to the post medieval period. The circumference of the button is corroded but was originally circular in plan and slightly convex in section .The upper surface is decorated with a Tudor rose motif surmounted by a crown and the circumferential legend 'NORT[H] PO[...]'. On the underside is a small, circular lug which is hemispherical in section, all that remains of the attachment loop. The surviving diameter is 25mm and it measures 1mm in thickness.
