Grey flint scraper fragment. A flake with broad and narrow flakes removed from its dorsal side, and with short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect following its curved end; the ventral surface is lost to more recent damage, as is the butt end of the scraper. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC. Length: 22.8mm, Width: 25.2mm, Thickness: 7.1mm, Weight: 5.47gms

Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Dark grey flint, possibly collected from the East Coast, scraper. A thick chunk with large flakes struck from the dorsal side by hard hammer, and with a bulb at one end of a lightly convex ventral surface. Angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows a long curving edge. Suggested date: Early Bronze age, 2350-1600 BC. Length: 45.1mm, Width: 31.7mm, Thickness: 14.9mm, Weight: 20.14gms

Broad period: MESOLITHIC

Grey flint with cortex core fragment. A pyramidal chunk detached from the side of a core and bearing narrow long parallel flake removal scars from probably unidirectional working, but with most of the associated striking platform lost. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic, 7000-4000 BC. Height: 36.2mm, Width: 34.5mm, Thickness: 29mm, Weight: 19.30gms

Object type: ARROWHEAD
Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Grey flint possible arrowhead fragment, as kindly identified by the finder. A thin flake fragment with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a rippled ventral surface. Angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows two converging edges. A straight edge opposite the longest of these is lost to a recent break. The surface bears a pale grey patina suggesting the object has endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment. If indeed an arrowhead, the triangular form suspected would ally this to Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Age artefacts. Suggested dat…

Object type: DEBITAGE
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Pale grey-buff flint debitage. A thin sub-triangular flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a bulb at the narrower end of the ventral surface. Patches of misty patina suggest the object has endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment. The finder kindly suggests this to be a transverse arrowhead, but the putative cutting edge [at bottom] is blunt and probably adventitiously chipped. It might alternartively be a knife, or perhaps an incompleted arrowhead. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC. Length: 30.6mm, Width: 23.9mm, Thickness: 4.4mm, Weigh…

The ventral face has no bulb of percussion but has a percussion scar and ripples. The implement is grey and off-white with iron staining on the arrises. Length: 34.0mm; width: 19.0mm; thickness: 3.9mm. Weight: 2.94g.

Object type: DEBITAGE
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: North Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Grey flint debitage fragment. A small thin chip of struck flint with a broad flake struck from its dorsal side and with a trace of a bulb on the ventral surface, both the bulb itself and the opposite end of the flake being lost to recent breaks. These are evidenced by the exposure of flint below a pale grey patina suggesting the object has endured exposure to a calcareous environment. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC. Length: 15.1mm, Width: 20mm, Thickness: 3.9mm, Weight: 1.37gms
