A complete early medieval cast silver pyramidal mount, probably from a sword scabbard. It is in the form of a hollow truncated pyramid with a square base and a flat top. Each face is decorated with three triangular recesses, one at the top with the point downwards and one each in the left and right corners, their points upwards. An incomplete iron T-clamp and rove, possibly dating to the Roman period. The object comprises a square-sectioned nail with a Type 3, T-shaped head, the end of which is peened onto a heavily curved rover or washer, which tapers to points at each end. This would have been used to join two pieces of wood, one of which was flat, the other heavily curved. Manning (1985, 133-4) suggests that these types of fastenings were used in ship construction but identical rivets can be seen on the scythes from Newstead, whilst Goodall (1980, Fig. 76) shows similar fittings on a medieval well cover.

A post-medieval (1500-1600) gilded silver composite hooked tag of Read's Class D, Type 1, consisting of plate, hook and attachment loop. The rectangular plate has seven projecting lobed knops, one on each corner and one at the centre of three sides. From the fourth side a larger and more elaborate fleur-de-lis shaped knop projects and acts as a junction where the plate and the hook meet.
