A complete copper-alloy strap fitting of late Iron Age to Roman date, c.50 BC - AD 200. The fitting comprises two pointed ovate - or teardrop - elements, joined at the rounded ends. An integral sub-triangular moulding is present to one side of the join between the two ovate elements and is decorated with moulded grooves to denote its shape as well as a central groove. An unidentified copper-alloy object of uncertain date, possibly a swivel strap-fitting for a leash or lead (c. 1100-c. 1500). The object consists of a ring, roughly pointed-oval in cross-section measuring 23.0 mm in diameter (internal diameter 15) with a sub-oval projection integral with the outside of the frame which may have acted as a rove. The projection is flat at the top and measures 6.2mm x 5.0mm. This object is drab green overall. Length: 23.0mm; width: 20.0mm; thickness of ring: 1.9mm.

Incomplete post-medieval sword belt hanger, half of an elaborate cast plate with extant flaring terminal with double-concave notch in end, curved swelling flanking notch at broken mid-point, decorated with worn counter-relief foliate decoration pierced by one surviving rivet-hole, and one surviving suspension-loop (containing loop from broken pendant leaf) projects from the lower edge. Traces of black lacquer on face. Extant length 29mm. Extant height at loop 29.5mm. Cf. NMS-975580 and a more elaborate version of broadly related form in Read (2001), fig.26, no.373. Late 16th-17th century.

Incomplete copper alloy bar-mount from the Medieval period (AD. 1200-1400). Possibly from a belt with central and terminal lobes one of which is broken and missing. The remaining terminal lobe is solid, with a separate copper alloy rivet (in situ). The central lobe is hollow to the reverse and domed to the front and is plain. Similar decorated bar-mounts with central and terminal lobes from London date to the 13th and 14th century (Egan & Pritchard 1991 nos.1154-1162) with similar objects on the database coming from Wiltshire: WILT-69BAB4 & WILT-6A1732.

Post medieval copper alloy belt fitting, 1600-1800, Length: 44 mm, width: 23 mm, thickness: 5 mm, weight: 16.4 g The object is in the form of an S with an oval cross section and is modelled to represent a snake. It has a rounded head with eyes and mouth and the rest of the upper surface is incised with scales. The lower half is incised with a row of lines crossing the body. The object has been tinned.
