This pellet is enclosed by a slight raised circumferential band positioned which runs around the middle part of the flan. The reverse is plain and undecorated. A complete lead or lead alloy weight, of probably the Medieval period, dating from c. AD 1300 to c. AD 1550. The weight is an thick disc in plan with bevelled edges. It is sub rectangular in profile / cross section. The top of the weight has a raised outer rim around the edge with a circular groove in the centre. The edges of the weight are bevelled and taper in to a flat undecorated base. It has a diameter of 31.9 mm and is 8.2 mm thick. It weighs 54.0 g (1.91 oz). Post medieval lead alloy button dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1625. Discoidal, domed head with a central pellet and six narrow radiating petals moulded in relief within a border to pellets. Faint traces of engraved transverse hatching between each petal. The integrally cast looped shank projects from the back of the button, terminating in two old breaks.
