It is sub rectangular in profile / cross section. The top of the weight has a raised outer rim around the edge with a circular groove in the centre. Post medieval lead alloy button dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1625. Discoidal, domed head with a central pellet and six narrow radiating petals moulded in relief within a border to pellets. Faint traces of engraved transverse hatching between each petal. The integrally cast looped shank projects from the back of the button, terminating in two old breaks.
