A cast copper-alloy mount in the form of a bird probably dating to the Roman period. The mount is a solid cast of a single dove or pigeon standing upright on a concave disc base attachment. The bird has a small head, short pointed beak and a long neck. The breast is plain and the body tapers slightly towards two legs and indistinctive feet that merge with the base. The back of the bird is plain and flat, and tapers evenly towards the rounded-off tail.
