~~Copper alloy Colchester derivative, rear hook brooch. This has a rearwards facing hook that would have held the spring (the spring and pin are now missing). The wings are decorated with a simple vertical groove at the tip while the rest of the bow is undecorated. The lower part of the bow and catchplate are truncated.

~~Roman copper alloy trumpet brooch that has an oval head plate. On the reverse is a single pierced lug that holds the spring support bar which has been bent into a loop above the head, the spring is made from three curls and the pin is complete. The bow emanates from the front of the head plate and has a moulded knee at the apex, after which the bow narrows to a semi-circular foot, the catch plate is closed. Date 75-175AD
