Incomplete medieval to post medieval foot from a cooking vessel such as a cauldron, posnet or skillet dating to the period c. AD 1300 - 1700. The leg has a worn break at the top, the inner edge curved to form the base of the vessel. It is trapezoidal in cross-section with a slightly concave reverse and tapers into the moulded foot. It exhibits traces of sooting. The vessels to which these were attached were usually of a tripod form and were widely used from circa AD 1200-1700 for serving and cooking.
