An incomplete silver Roman coin, probably a radiate, of Gaordian III (AD 238-244), dating to the period c.238-244 (Reece period 12). [P]ROVIDENTI[A AVG] reverse type depicting Providentia standing left holding globe and transverse sceptre. This is probably a contemporary plated copy of a protoype from the mint of Rome. cf. RIC IV.3, p. 39, no. 227 for a similar hybrid issue.
