A complete Post-Medieval copper-alloy pedestal/pendant seal matrix dating to the 17th century (c. 1600-1700). The seal matrix is a conical shape with a narrow rectangular shank which widens at the top to a flat trefoil suspension loop. A cancelled fragment of worn and abraded flat lead non-heraldic personal seal matrix of Medieval date c.AD 1200-1350. County: North Lincolnshire

Copper alloy possible seal matrix fragment. A pressed metal hemispherical object with a subdivided closely-spaced chevron motif at its outer edge, and with fine vertical fluting above it, plain on top. The plain area may be where a handle has been lost, or might arise from heavy wear. The interpretation offered envisages this object clenching an engraved stone matrix [now lost], probably with a handle or suspension loop [if so, also lost]. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1750-1850. Width: 26.3mm, Height: 14.2mm, Thickness (wall of object): 0.6mm, Weight: 2.25gms
