A Copper-alloy and Iron buckle frame of Post-Medieval date (c. AD 1575 - 1700). The frame is asymmetrical and double looped and curves upwards. A sub-rectangular loop with a lateral terminal bar is decorated with two central incised transverse grooves, flanked either side by two oblique incised grooves. Opposite is the central pin bar which abuts the second loop. Semi-circular in plan, the loop exhibits a distorted and fractured diamond shaped, openwork terminal.
Some of the central part of the object is hidden by remains of the corroded iron plate. Overall it is in good condition …

A cast Copper-alloy buckle frame of Medieval to post Medieval date c. AD 1300 - AD 1700. Dating is problematic as the design was in use over an extended period.
The frame is rectangular in plan with square corners by the strap-bar and rounded corners either side of a copper-alloy roller, still present at the opposite edge. Remains of a pin are witnessed by Iron corrosion product present at the strap bar and on the roller.
Measurements are: Length: 17.41 mm, Width: 19.54 mm, Thickness: 4.38 mm and it weighs: 3.16 grams.

Copper-alloy double loop or spectacle buckle, missing only its pin, dating to the post-medieval period (c. 1550 - 1650 AD). The buckle frame consists of two equally-sized D-shaped loops with moulded roundels on the outer edge of each loop and lobed knops at either end of the strap bar. The knops and roundels have a decorative design on their upper surface, consisting of transverse grooves and forming a scallop-shell or floral effect, although the detail of this design is difficult to make out due to the worn nature of the object in its current state. A cast copper alloy guard from a quillion dagger of medieval date (c. 1380 - c. 1390). The quillons both have a broad rounded terminal and a tapering cylindrical cross-section. In the centre is a boss with an asymetrical sub-triangular tang-hole, suggesting a single edged blade. There is an angled line at the base of each quillon where it meets the boss. A very similar guard can be seen on a dagger illustrated in the London Museum Medieval Catalogue (1940, p. 39, Plate VI, no. 2), dated to c. 1380 - 1390 by comparison to a dagger depicted on a tomb effigy (see p. 41, B325)
