A complete copper-alloy mount of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 800 - 900. The mount is lozenge-shaped with rounded sides and pointed end and an integral circular sectioned shaft projecting off-centre to the reverse. The upper surface is decorated with a Trewhiddle style beast within a double lozenge border. The body of the beast faces left and is formed of double raised ridges as are the legs which cross the body to either end. The head of the beast is turned back over its shoulder.
